Entering the Port

IThe port of Cavallo is situated inside the natural park of the Strait of Bonifacio and is formed by a long breakwater, encompassing three docks with several piers.
Dangers: There are protruding rocks to the west and north of the island. The harbour should be approached from the south, following the channel marked by four red and green buoys.
Entry times: From 08:30 until half an hour before sunset.
Entry: Before entering, call the port administration on VHF channel 09 for instructions.
Lighthouses and navigation beacons: 0926.3 (E0874.5) – clocked white navigation light with red and green sectored light, every 4 seconds, 6 M reach in white sector, 4 M reach in the red and green on end of jetty (sectored green light visible from 328° to 337°, white from 337° to 344° and red from 344° to 353°); 0926.4 (E0874.51) – beacon with flashing green light, grp 3, every 12 seconds, 2 M reach starboard entering, same support as n° 0926.3; 0926.5 (E0874.55) – beacon with flashing red light, grp 3, every 12 seconds, 2 M reach port side entering; 0926.6 – buoy “1” lateral starboard side flashing green, every 2.5 seconds, 2 M reach (radar reflector); 0926.7 – buoy “2” port side flashing red, every 2.5 seconds, 2 M reach (radar reflector); 0926.8 – buoy “3” lateral starboard side flashing green, every 6 seconds, 2 M reach (radar reflector); 0926.9 – buoy “4” lateral port side flashing red, every 6 seconds, 2 M reach (radar reflector)..
Depths: at quay, from 1.20 to 3.00 m.
Radio: VHF channel 09.
Maximum length: 40 m
Restrictions: It is prohibited to wash boats with soap and discharge bilge.
